Computer Recycling

That old PC you have may be more valuable than you realize, especially to a ministry in the developing world. Would you be willing to utilize it in a brief partnership project with a developing world ministry?

We are saying a "brief" partnership because we are only asking for a little bit of time and very little expense to salvage the usable parts of that PC for re-use iby ministries around the world. You see, shipping an entire computer can be a considerable expense. Plus, some parts simply last a long time. Others, though, wear out and malfunction much more frequently. And just like the analysis done here on a malfunctioning PC, older computers overseas are constantly being evaluated for their worthiness to repair or simply replaced with newer ones. The key to getting those older machines repaired, refurbished, and or updated then depends entirely on having a source of inexpensive replacement parts. Through this program we hope to provide that key to ministries around the world - with your help.

Do It Yourself PC Recycling

We believe you can do this

Testing and dismantling a computer is much easier than operating one or repairing one. If you can download and burn a CD you can download and burn the testing cd software. A few simple notes of the results is all a ministry refurbishing team will need for information about the parts. If you can turn a screwdriver and can follow simple instruction you qulify to be a PC parts salvage person.

What Is Your Favorite Ministry?

We let you decide and send the parts directly

There are just so many worthy causes that we leave the best part to you also; where you send the parts to the ministry of your choice! Many of the parts, and often the most needed, are lightweight enough to fit in even an envelope. Even the largest are releatively light and need only a small box and simple packing. If you don't have a ministry in mind you can visit our refurbisher's forum where the ministries and their students who are learning to build computers with these parts post their requests for needed parts. Find one you like and Instant Messenger them with the details.

Also in the forum you will find a section where you can post any questions you have about dismantling or testing the PC.
